Qur’an Academy

Introduction

In response to a pressing societal need, we are introducing an innovative educational initiative – the Nurul Islam Qur’an Academy. This pioneering endeavor harmoniously integrates Hifdh (memorization) of the Quran, Maktab (Islamic primary education), Tarbiyyah (youth development), and Schooling (online). With a central focus on nurturing character, our academy seeks to elevate the spiritual and educational journey of our students. The Academy will be housed at the Nurul Islam Masjid which is central for the community of Lenasia.

Our Islamiaat Department also engages our learners in the practical aspects of our deen by participating in activities such as: Qiraat Jalsah; Hajj workshops; Salaah practical workshops; Art & craft projects; JUSA workshops, etc.

Comprehensive Hifdh Program:
  • An exceptional Hifdh curriculum emphasizing Tajweed.
  • Quranic Arabic and vocabulary acquisition.
  • Encouraging students to read the translation of their lessons.
  • Dedicated time for Tafseer (Quranic exegesis).
  • A balanced 5-year journey from grade 04 to grade 08 to ensure thorough and unhurried Hifdh.
  • A dedicated year (grade 09) for dhor (revision) post completion of memorization.
Innovative Schooling:
  • Partnering with recognized institution Qurtuba Online Academy.
  • Affiliated learning Centre.
  • Flexible hours until grade 09 (Mon to Thur).
  • Integrated into Madrasah times under our guidance.
  • Grade 04 – 09 with Hifdh.
  • Grade 10 – 12 with Dhor (If suitable to our timetable).
Dynamic Maktab Experience:
  • Interactive online Maktab sessions with Qurtuba Online Academy.
  • Focused on theoretical knowledge.
  • Only 30 minutes per day.
  • Memorization of Surahs Duas incorporated with the Hifdh programme.
Introducing Arabic and Tafseer:
  • Elevating Quranic connection through improved Arabic understanding.
  • Introduction to books focusing on Quranic words.
  • Inclusion of Arabic as a subject within Maktab offering.
  • Integration of recommended translation reading.
  • Guided Tafseer sessions with an Ustaadh.
Holistic Youth Development:
  • Continuous Tarbiyyah addressing contemporary youth challenges.
  • Special focus on Imaan Muthaakarah
  • Activities on weekends, and holidays.
  • Engaging guest speakers and youth related programmes.

    All extracurricular activities/programmes/courses are free unless external payments are required.
    Friday and Saturday will have a different timetable and programme. (tbc)
    Bursaries (Zakaat) are available from both NIQA and QOA (subject to approval).
